EK II 1914 Petz & Lorenz
The cross is not visible maker marked but can be attributed to the company Petz & Lorenz. The cross has an one piece construction with a nonmagnetic core. The core and frame are made from nickel silver/neussilber. This is very rare because of the most Petz & Lorenz crosses you see are made from zinc.
The lost of black paint on the core is very characteristic for these Petz & Lorenz crosses. By order of the Presidential Chancellery the firm has to stop his production in 1941. They also forbit Petz & Lorenz to sell their stock and their production tools. Probably also one of the reasons why they are so very rare and hard to find. They are for me….. nice of ugliness!
